Ripped from the headlines since the last show in 2017, you'll find songs and sketches about the false Missile Alert and politicians-including Tulsi Gabbard, Mazie Hirono, Ed Case, David Ige- and the Kealohas. No one is safe when Honolulu's newspaper, magazine, radio, television, stage folks and alumni gather at the Diamond Head Theatre for four fully produced shows on Aug. 29-31. Reserved seating is available for evening shows that run Thursday through Saturday, plus the Saturday matinee.
The Gridiron show happens every two years - the odd years. Proceeds benefit the Society of Professional Journalists' Hawaii Chapter student internships, supporting the journalists of tomorrow.
Gridiron 2019: This is Not a Drill: 8 p.m. Aug. 29, 30 and 31, one matinee show at 3 p.m. Aug. 31, at Diamond Head Theatre, 520 Makapu'u Ave., across from Kapi'olani Community College.
There's plenty of free parking at KCC and behind the theater.

TICKET SALES BEGIN AT 10 A.M. MONDAY, JULY 29 (Hawaiian Standard Time).
Please be prepared to use a computer and have your Ticketmaster account set up in advance. (Ticketmaster no longer takes orders by phone.)

Accessible seating (along with companion seating) is available on a first-come first-served basis by emailing smorita1@twc.com
with show preference, number of companion seats (up to 2) and a phone number (after 10 a.m. July 29).
Tickets are $70 for super good seats and $50 for really good seats.
Fees charged by Ticketmaster are: $5.50 per ticket for $50 tickets, $7.50 per ticket for $70 tickets, $4.15 per order-processing fee and a 3% credit card fee. (TicketFast is FREE, but mail delivery costs $3.50.)
Will-call pickup at the theater will be available until curtain time.
Tickets will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. Presale tickets are available to members of the SPJ-Hawaii Chapter and Gridiron cast and crew.
Tickets are not tax-deductible. SPJ-Hawaii is a 501(c)6 organization.
